MEASURED
SURVEYS

A measured survey is a comprehensive, accurate representation of a building.

Resulting in detailed drawings that will capture site data such as the floor plans, roof plan, internal and external elevations, building cross sections.

Since accurate drawings are critical to redevelopment and refurbishment projects, it is important to seek expert assistance when this type of service is required.

We follow RICS guidance and benchmarked standards for the measurement of buildings and land; a service we provide for other architects, homeowners, commercial operators, building managers and statutory service providers, such as fibre networking companies.

We can also include other information from fixtures and fittings to a topographic survey to give a fuller survey report. Reports are provided in 2D AutoCAD as standard with other formats available on request.

Measured surveys are based on meticulous site practices and our measured building surveyors conduct them using state-of-the-art measuring technologies and devices to capture results to the desired accuracy tolerances and scale.

Hotel
Lee on Solent, Hampshire

Working in conjunction with our Building Surveying colleagues, we provided a suite of working drawings for the reinstatement of a family home, following a devastating fire.

As part of the process we were required to prepare compliance drawings for the reinstatement works to achieve Building Regulations consent, as well as to achieve competitive prices for the works through a tender process.

Bar/Restaurant Premises
(Various UK)

We work with a leading national restaurant operator and have prepared measured surveys of premises across the UK that they are either seeking to refit, or are taking into their portfolio through leasehold acquisition.

Our typical instruction is for the preparation of drawings that will be suitable for their design and fit-out companies to work from in the proposed refurbishment of the building. This will include plans (floor, reflective ceiling plans), internal elevations, fixed furniture and services, external elevations and shopfronts.

Fibre Network Sites
(Various UK)

We are appointed by a fibre network provider in the preparation of measured site plans (including levels) on new site acquisitions.

These are typically small land parcels, but which are often irregular in shape. They require accurate recording of boundaries and site levels. From our initial site drawings, we work with the client to develop proposed site layout drawings including base build formations, ductwork and cable routes, above ground structures.

Retail Units
(UK, South)

On the instructions of a leading national retailer, we have prepared measured survey drawings for estate management purposes on a number of units across the south.

These drawings typically comprise floor plan layouts with fire safety information recorded. They have been used for the development of Fire Risk Assessments, asbestos management plans, or as the basis for proposed future refurbishment / fit-out projects.
